Most women paid heed to the “2-inches-above-the-knee” rule, though there were a few rebels who slipped through the net wearing minis that measured closer to 2 inches below the knickers. Tracy Rose created what she called an Ascot Convertible Skirt a crepe dress showing acres of leg that, she managed to pull down to a more appropriate length when it was needed.
